The Nike Air Max 1 has evolved from a running shoe to a lifestyle favorite, with an eternal progression of design accents, improvements, and colorways since its 1987 debut. In early 2019, the Nike Air Max 1 'Outdoor Green' sported a dark green colorway in mesh, suede, and synthetic leather. Accents include a midpanel Swoosh, tongue and heel branding, and a padded heel collar. The foam midsole underneath houses a visible Air unit on top of a traction-ready rubber outsole.
